Post graduation

I feel like I have so much more time on my hands now that I have completed my degrees. No more late nights of home work or studying. I'm completing every house chore almost on a daily basis, which is absolutely exhausting. If I weren't doing house chores, I'd be turning into mush on my couch, lol!

I'm waiting to hear back from the State of Alaska DOT & PF. I applied for an accounting position when I was still in school, and I interviewed at the end of April. They started calling my references a week after my interview, so I know I've made it to the top of the potential hire list. I just can't wait to see if I am the one they want. If I do get the position, it will challenge me as well as change my family's life in so many positive ways. I'll need to figure out who can help watch my kiddos and how I'm going to get then on a schedule (or if I can even handle day care). If I'm not the one they chose, I will continue to work on my interview skills and try harder for the next one.

I am continuing my education no matter what. I plan on taking a few summer, fall, and spring classes in order to satisfy the 150 credits needed to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam. I'd like to study for the exam starting next spring and possibly take the exam in the fall.

Here's to the future and all that it holds!

New apartment

Tons of changes happening this year. Ward and I are going to try our luck out in Chugiak. We found a reasonably priced, newly renovated apartment right across the hall from my sisters place! So far so good! School is almost over! I'll be graduating May 4th with my BBA and ASS in accounting (ill minor in communications). I'll continue taking a few courses so I can satisfy the 150credits necessary to sit for the CPA next year. So busy!!

Growing too quickly!

I can't believe how quickly my babies are growing! I feel like it needs to slow down. Aubrey is such a sweet helper and loves to "hold" Avery for me. She also helps me clean up her messes!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year! We celebrated our eight year (dating) anniversary last night. We were out at our friend Roy's house in Eagle River.  We wanted to celebrate the new year at 8 PM since the kids needed to go to bed, but we missed the ball drop by one minute! It was a really fun evening. For dinner, we had pizza and breadsticks. We also celebrated with sparkling cider. We spent the night at my moms house since my parents and siblings went out to our family cabin at Nancy lake. Ward had to work this morning, so the kids and I are hanging out at my moms. Here we are waiting for everyone to come home!

I have decided to make some life changes this year. I am starting with working on being happier. I will try to drink more water and less diet drinks. I'd also like to add more excercize to my routine to reach a healthy weight.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy new year!

Happy holidays again!

Since my last post (which was this time last year), I have given birth to my son, Avery. My sister has gotten married, I have completed another semester at UAA, Ward got hurt and we have moved in with my in-laws. Life has been pretty rough, and we are hoping to see a return to normalcy soon.

Financial troubles hit us hard when Ward hurt his ankle back in April, while playing in a volleyball tournament. He was off work for a month and we had absolutely no income. Family and friends stepped up to help us out, but we weren't able to stay afloat. We are very fortunate that Wards parents have let us move in with them while we rent out our house.

I have gained a bit of weight since having Avery. My doctors have been really pushing me to lose it and it's been rough. They've been running some blood tests to check on my liver function and my kidney function. I had some elevated levels, which indicates liver damage so they want to check again in a few months after I've hopefully lost some of the weight and started taking care of myself again. I'll keep everyone posted on that front.

On the bright side, Avery celebrated his first Christmas yesterday! Both kids had tons of fun opening their gifts and playing with all of their new things.
Christmas is truly amazing when you have children. I love watching them rip through the gift wrapping to find what special toy awaits them.

I went back to work for the first time since April 2012 (just a seasonal position). I worked at Baby gap for Black Friday. It was really nice being able to have a little adult interaction. I feel like I'm losing my mind somedays. It's really hard being home all day with two babies. I love my children, and I am so thankful that I am able to spend so much time with them. That being said, when it gets dark and cold outside life gets really hard.  It's too cold to go anywhere or even go outside for that matter.

For New Year's Eve this year, Ward and I were invited to a friends house for a party/poker tournament. I'm really excited to get out and get dressed up for a night. Hopefully it will be as much fun as I am hyping it up to be :)

That's all I've got for now. Since my BFF, Jenn, told me about the blogger app, I'll be trying to blog much more often. Happy holidays everyone! Try to stay warm!!

Happy Holidays, and soon a trip!

Today was an amazing day with the family. Aubrey and I spent all day with my family since Ward had to work. We ate breakfast, took our mid day nap, and had dinner. Oh and Aubrey opened her Christmas presents. She got so many new things that she loves!

My sister Ashley, and her boyfriend of six and a half years, Chad, got engaged. Looks like we will be planning a wedding next year along with me finishing school, and adding a baby to the family.

Ward, Aubrey, and I are leaving in FIVE days to go to Portland. I am super excited to get out of Alaska for awhile and be with my best friend and her family. I will also get to see my brother, cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandma. I am soooo excited!

Well, time to get to bed. It has been a long day. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays to all! AND a Happy New Year!!

About my family

Hello All!

This is my first ever blog! I am super excited to have a place that I can connect with friends and family all over the US. I am also excited to be able to document my growing family's adventures, and every day happenings.

About the Blair Family!

Ward Blair is my husband. He is currently employed at FedEx Express as a Ramp Agent here in Alaska. We met 9 years ago when we both worked at a local ice rink (not worthy of naming). We will have been together for 7 years on Dec 31, 2005. I am so surprised at how quickly time seems to have passed.

I am Kary Blair. I am an Accounting student at the University of Alaska Anchorage (aka UAA). This is my final year of schooling (unless for some reason I decide to go back). I am a type 1 diabetic. I was diagnosed a little over 5 years ago. It was just a couple weeks before my 20th birthday when I went to see my doctor because something wasn't right. Since then, I have been diagnosed with several other auto immune disorders, which aren't even 1/10 of as bad to deal with as diabetes. Right now, I am pregnant with my second child. We found out today that it will be a boy! We have a 16 month old daughter, Aubrey, who I will talk about more in a moment. I was born and raised in Alaska, and i would LOVE to get out and love somewhere else for a while (if not forever). Don't get me wrong, Alaska is beautiful. However, the dark, cold winters are seriously depressing, and I feel like they are totally starting to affect me. I love that all of Aubrey's Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunties, Uncles, and her Cousin are all in Alaska, and they are all such a HUGE help to us. I will miss them if/when we move, but hopefully some of them will move with us ;).

Aubrey Blair is our 16 month old daughter. She is amazingly smart, and talented, and the sweetest little girl in the world (no seriously, she is)! She is learning and growing everyday, and I am so excited to see how great of a big sister she will be to her baby brother. She loves her books, clothes, and shoes. She is our little miracle baby, and I love her more than she will ever know.

Baby Boy Blair is our son due April 28th, 2013. His name will be released once we have decided on a middle name. There are a lot of great family names to choose from, and we just need to decide which one matches his first name the best. He is growing and moving more and more. I can't wait to meet him (actually, I can. He should stay where he is for as long as he can, and get nice and chubby ;)). So far, my pregnancy has been amazing in-spite of the diabetes. My blood sugars have been amazing, and Baby Boy is growing right on track.

Well, I think I should get to bed. Wednesdays and Thursdays are daddy's long work days and it'll be just Aubrey and me all day. I am hoping Ill be able to keep up with this, and keep everyone in the loop! Thanks for reading!
